There is a culture of silence with regard to the sexual abuse of children in the church and in society. Pope Francis adopted a ‘zero tolerance’ policy in the Catholic Church towards clergy accused of sexual abuse. Vos Estis Lux Mundi, calls on every local church and Congregation to set up child protection policies and a reporting procedure for allegations of abuse. The 4-day program intends to train the clergy, religious, formators, and educators to prevent and protect children under their care from abuses of all sorts, understand the dynamics of abuse, accompany survivors of abuse, and identify ‘red flags’ or potential perpetrators and their modus operandi.
